Commercial Credit Analyst (2 positions)
Manager:
Chief Lender
Primary Function: Maintain a high level of knowledge on commercial loan regulations and NMSB requirements. Possess a through knowledge of the FDIC compliance regulations on commercial loans. Accurate and timely underwriting of moderately complex commercial loan applications delivered by the Commercial/Consumer Loan Officers/Bankers. This process includes, but is not limited to, underwriting consumer and mortgage loan applications, review of application supporting documents, and the review of loan closing documents. Enhance customer relationships by being proactive in reinforcing sales culture and providing exceptional customer service. Communicate effectively with Bankers, Lenders and Loan Department as this position serves as a critical liason between these three departments. Actively solicit new business opportunities with both existing and new customers using customer service sales techniques.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
- Underwriting of loan files as assigned by manager. This process will include collection of all customer information gathered at time of application and any credit information collected.
- Effective communication with all areas involved, and incorporating the pertinent business partners in the loan review process is critical to the accurate and timely review of each loan submitted.
- Cooperatively working together with loan processors, account executive/Sales Manager, and mortgage brokers/bankers to ensure accurate loan information is obtained. Identify and communicate trends or issues that may have occurred in specific regions or with particular clients.
- Work with bank partners (i.e. Fannie Mae and WHEDA) software programs for application delivery.
- Price loans appropriately based on bank regulations and guidelines.
- Answer and direct all incoming phone calls, in a positive and proactive manner, to the department.
- Provide a quality level of service to all customers in a timely, thorough and responsible manner.
- Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of all commercial/consumer products and services and compliance regulations surrounding commercial/consumer banking products and services.
- Knowledge of other banks/institutions products and services to stay competitive in the banking market.
- Ability to discuss a customer’s financial needs and maintain North Milwaukee State Bank professionalism, courtesy and a personal touch.
- Follow through on all customer requests for services and products by obtaining the necessary authorization, completing the necessary documents and forwarding the information to proper department to ensure expedient processing.
- Exercise sound judgement consistent with policy and procedures. Consult your manager before deviating from standard procedures.
- Leverages own skills and strengths by sharing information affecting others.
- Builds solid working relationships with coworkers as to build a team working environment.
- Is flexible and adaptive when faced with changing needs of customer of organization during down times.
- Keep informed of changes in product offering and participate in training sessions as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- College degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2 years of related work experience.
- Knowledge of commercial and consumer banking products and services.
- Knowledge of banking compliance and regulations.
- Computer literacy in the following: Microsoft Word, Excel, Window Based software.
- Exemplify excellent business professional customer service skills demonstrated face-to-face, via telephone and in writing.
